FEATURES
Build Comparison
Overview
Build comparison lets you place any set of AI capabilities side by side – across the same layer or different ones – and read their full score breakdown in a single table. It draws on the same maturity, sovereignty rating, scarcity, agency score and recommended action data shown on each capability page, so what you see in the comparison always matches the underlying assessment.

Build a multi layer comparison
The comparison bar persists as you move between layers, so you can tick capabilities on one layer, jump to another, and keep adding to the same comparison.
- Open a layer page and tick some capabilities. From the home page or the left sidebar, select one of the six AI Ecosystem Layers and tick the checkboxes next to the capabilities you want to compare.
- Switch to another layer. Use the left sidebar to open a different layer. Your earlier selections stay in the comparison bar – they are not cleared by navigating between layers.
- Tick capabilities in the new layer. Repeat across as many of the six layers as you need. The comparison bar’s count and chips update to include every capability selected so far, regardless of which layer it belongs to.
- Make more selections from other layers. Use the sidebar to explore and select more capabilities from other layers across the Typology. Selections accumulate in the bar at the bottom of the page and persist as you move between layers.
- Select Compare. This opens a comparison page listing every capability you picked across all layers, in the order you selected them, carrying across the year and simulation context you were viewing.
- Read the breakdown. Each row shows maturity, sovereignty rating, scarcity, agency score and recommended action, so you can line up capabilities from different layers that feed into the same question.
Build a single layer comparison
Open any AI Ecosystem Layer to compare capabilities within it. No account or sign-in is required to build a comparison of the master Assessment.
- Open a layer page. From the home page or the left sidebar, select one of the six AI Ecosystem Layers to see its full tree of categories.
- Tick the capabilities you want to compare. Every row in the layer table has a checkbox. Selections persist as you scroll and expand different branches of the Ecosystem Layer, so you can select your desired capabilities.
- Watch the comparison bar. A bar slides up from the bottom of the screen showing how many capabilities are selected, with a chip for each one. Use Clear to start over.
- Select Compare. This opens a dedicated comparison page listing your selected capabilities in the order you picked them, carrying across the year and simulation context you were viewing.
- Read the breakdown. Each row shows maturity, sovereignty rating, scarcity, agency score and recommended action for that capability, so relative strengths and gaps are visible at a glance.
Use cases
Build comparison is designed for anyone who needs to consider several capabilities at the same time:
Compare capabilities within one layer to identify which have the highest agency score and which represent the most significant gaps.
Line up capabilities from different layers that feed into the same policy question – for example, several inputs relevant to a particular use case.
Compare a set of capabilities under a saved simulation against the master Assessment, to see the combined effect of several modelled changes at once.
Assemble a table for a briefing pack or board paper without manually cross-referencing multiple capability pages.
